VP, High School Sports Sales – USA TODAY Sports Media Group/New York City

The Vice President of High School Sports Sales for USA TODAY Sports Media Group will be responsible for driving revenue across all USAT Sports Media and their respective sites and digital asset with specific focus on our High School Sports assets. The successful candidate will lead sales efforts and directly contribute to the revenue development and the overall growth of the business. This position reports to the Senior VP, SMG Advertising Sales.

Responsibilities:
This position will provide tactical and strategic advertising sales leadership, driving revenue growth through direct sales and sales leadership. Core responsibilities will include:
  • Be the HS Sport expert – players, schedules, big events, etc.
  • Be the site or product expert – work with the GM and editorial team
  • Advertising Innovation for the products – develop new great go-to-market ideas
  • Identify prospects
  • Working with sales team to penetrate and close key targets
  • Have high level relationships for key accounts. 
  • Help oversee execution of programs
  • Own the number for the products they represent


Qualifications:
  • Successful candidate will bring extensive advertising/media sales experience in the High School Sports media industry
  • A proven media sales team leader with the ability to drive a growing sales organization in a highly competitive market; will have established relationships within the advertising industry across the country including brand and agency relationships
  • Ten years’ successful sales experience in a competitive media marketplace
  • Minimum of 10 years’ successful digital sales or digital sales management
  • Documented success in leading, building, coaching and motivating a media sales team.

This job will be based in New York City.
